UA. University Archives
Classification
Identifier: UA
On Feb. 20, 1975 President Ralph W. Steen established the university archives to preserve the university’s official records. The university’s inactive records of archival value were to be transferred to the Special Collections Department for permanent preservation and to allow faculty, staff and patrons to research these materials. The Special Collections Department changed its name to the East Texas Research Center in 1994 but continued as the official repository of university records.
Information of general interest about SFA history, buildings, folklore and traditions is available in the University Archives and the SFA vertical files.
