Dorthy Palmer Papers

Scope and Contents

The bulk of this collection consists of deeds, but there are also promissory notes, photographs, negatives, several land surveys, some estate papers, a land grant, and a plat map. The majority of the documents pertain to Nacogdoches County.

Researchers may find several of the c.1920s photographs and negatives in folder 1 to be of particular interest.

Herrera Family Papers

Scope and Contents

The Herrera Family Papers include a original land grant signed by Gov. Hubbard. There are also 15 original deeds of sale, mostly concerning portions of the original grant, dated 1886 to 1965. The collection also includes family photographs, account books and a copy of the will of Marvin Falcon and Beulah Herrera Falcon.

Legg General Store Collection

The Legg General Store collection contains books of accounts received as well as receipt books. There is also included a letter sent from Andy’s nephew, Lalonde Legg who was stationed overseas during World War I, to Andy in 1918. Included are land and warranty deeds, as well as oil, gas, and mineral leases.
