Part of the book contains a brief journal which appears to be a record of trips taken from 1895 to 1900 (author unknown). In the same handwriting are copied some inspirational thoughts. At the end of the book are several pages of a diary which begins with the announcement of the birth of Edward Boone Brackett, Jr. in 1905 and ends about 1912. There are very few entries and all have been written at some later time. The cash book is in very poor condition with many pages missing and others loose and crumbling.
