The Carrye B. Brown Personal Papers contain a number of scrapbooks, letters, and other documents relating to the life of Carrye Burley Brown.

Much of the collection consists of scrap books from 1974-1976 showing teaching work, work with Rotary International, and trips taken to Oxford, England.

There are also a number of documents relating to Brown’s work with the government, including miscellaneous papers relating to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science and Technology from 1977-2001, the U.S. Fire Administration in 1997, and the African American Fire Fighters Historical Association.

The collection will prove useful to researchers interested in firefighting history, African American firefighting history, and government administration.
