The Bexar Archives contain Spanish and Mexican colonial-era judicial, military, administrative, and personal records that document daily life, governance, settlement, and law enforcement in Texas. Through trial proceedings, official correspondence, reports, diaries, and other records, the collection offers a rich firsthand account of the political, social, and cultural history of Texas and its early Spanish, Mexican, and Anglo-American inhabitants.

The collection contains legal papers, correspondence, business papers, Republic of Texas Army Commissary Records, and biographical and genealogical material on Forbes. There is a transcript of the David G. Burnet treason trial and papers relating to Sam Houston, David Crockett, and Andrew Jackson.
