Biographical or Historical Information

A sister organization or "adoptive rite" to the Masons (Freemasonry), the Order of the Eastern Star was first established in 1788. The Order has undergone various reorganizations. In 1876 it was reorganized in its present form with degrees named for Bible characters and rituals based upon those of the Masonic Order. The Past Matrons Club, Nacogdoches Chapter, was organized in May of 1944. Charter members were those who had served as Matrons in the Order of the Eastern Star
