Scope and Contents

This collection consists of 33 ledger books, a poetry scrapbook, and a Beaumont High School yearbook, "Spindletop" (1925). The ledger books include daybooks, general ledgers, and farm account books pertaining to the clientele and operations of the general merchandise and grocery store.

Biographical or Historical Information

Gary B. Sanford's father was C. E. Sanford. His mother was T. S. Garrison's daughter, Adele. Mrs. Gary B. Sanford's sister was the late Miss Pearl Barron of Nacogdoches. The C. E. Sanford and Son business was general merchandise, groceries, and a sawmill. Business extended around Timpson and the vicinity, and in Caledonia
