Biographical or Historical Information
Santa Fe Industries merged with Kirby Lumber Company in 1974. Santa Fe Industries offered the minority stock holders $150 a share. The minority stock holders thought this was an unfair price, and had their stock appraised. The stockholders sued Santa Fe Industries and won. The minority stock holders were awarded $254 a share plus interest
