Texas Society of American Foresters Records
Scope and Contents
Correspondence, membership records, by-laws, financial records, subject files, committee and annual meeting activities, resolutions, and minutes of meetings. Also included are records of the Brazos-Trinity, the Lufkin-Nacogdoches, and the Houston-Huntsville-College Station groups. Files also contain materials relating to the membership and business of the Stephen F. Austin State University chapter of the Society. Furthermore there is mixed media, two cassette tapes, four compact disks (CDs), nine floppy disks, and four magnetic tape reels. Additions to the collection are anticipated.

Biographical or Historical Information
In 1925, The Gulf States Section of the Society of American Foresters was formed which include Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. In 1980, with the dissolution of the Gulf States Section, the Texas Society of Foresters was chartered. Since then the TSAF has continued to grow and flourish with new ideas of science and forestry.
