Biographical or Historical Information
The basis of the Student Government Association was created in 1935 with the establishment of the College Commission. The Commission was looking to provide a plan and an integrated program for inducting the freshmen into the college community, to develop unity and understanding among the men and women on campus through a broadened and coordinated social program, and to promote better relationships between students and members of the faculty. The Student Government Association is made up and administered entirely by students and is the representative body of the students at SFA. The Student Government is made up of three branches (the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial) to serve as a model government and provide opportunities for leadership development. The Student Government Association strives to be the voice of the student body at SFA. It works hand in hand wiht University Administration to help form SFA Policy.Note written by Greg Bailey
