Biographical or Historical Information
The University Year for Action was a federally funded program that allowed students to work firsthand with some of the problems of society; drug abuse, poverty, the elderly, and the mentally ill. Many Universities used the program and awarded students who participated with a full year’s academic credit for enrolling in off-campus antipoverty programs.Note written by Greg Bailey
