Biographical or Historical Information

C. Smith Ramsey began practicing law and operating the San Augustine County Abstract Company with his father in 1928.  He served as San Augustine city attorney for forty years, and was appointed by Gov. Richards to the Board of Regents for State Teachers Colleges in 1957.  Ramsey remained active in the San Augustine County Abstract Company until his death in 1983. (Jones, Charla.
