Biographical or Historical Information

Benjamin F. Duren was born in Alabama the son of Jesse and Margaret Brothers Duren and married Susan Cole. Benjamin was a surveyor from Crockett, Texas and surveyed land all over Texas with his wife Susan's help. They owned land in Angelina, Cherokee, Anderson, Houston and Leon Counties. Benjamin served in the Civil War 7th Texas Calvary, Green's Brigade, Company D.
