Biographical or Historical Information
Maud M. Oates was born July 1, 1878 near Leggett, Polk County, Texas and died December 26, 1972 in Polk County, Texas. Her parents were John R. and Sallie Frances Singletary-Oates. She married Robert Lewis Lisenbee who was born January 14, 1880 and died September 3, 1916 in Allen Parish, Louisiana. John R. Oates parents were Carraway and Catherine Oates who came from Henry County, Alabama and settled in Polk County, Texas in 1854.
