Biographical or Historical Information
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) works to support and promote the research, scholarly, and creative activities of the SFA community. ORSP works with faculty to ensure that grant funded projects are conducted and funds are spent according to the award terms and conditions. Faculty research grants have been managed formally by Research Services and the Office of Development. The Office of Development now encompasses fund raising and the SFA Foundation Inc. The University has also sponsored the Research Clinic which was a one day event that provided information from state, private, and federal agencies of funds available in the form of research grants for colleges and university. The Clinic hosted representatives of universities and colleges from the five states comprising the Region 7, U.S. Office of Health, Education, and Welfare (HEW). The five states that made up Region 7 were Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
