Ed Walraven Collection
Scope and Contents
The letters, notes, and tape recordings in this collection document Edward Walraven’s discussions and interviews with Mr. Bob Murphey, a Nacogdoches attorney and humorist. Correspondence is dated from 1986 to 1992. Walraven was interested in humor and its place in the culture.

Biographical / Historical
Dr. Edward Lee Walraven worked at Texas A and M for 43-years. He joined the staff in 1974 as a public relations writer. In 1991, he joined the faculty and then went on to complete his Ph.D. in 1999. He taught a variety of courses in the Journalism Department. Walraven retired from his teaching position in May 2017.
