Abstract

Correspondence, notes, and clippings pertaining to the life and works of Jessamyn West: poet, novelist and short story writer. Copies of many of her works are included. Materials collected by Dr. Shivers, SFASU English Professor, in preparation for writing his critical biography, Jessamyn West (1972).

Scope and Contents The collection spans Roark's writing career from 1943 until his death in 1985 and contains galley proofs and original handwritten and typed manuscripts of many of his books, newspaper articles, and other writings, including unpublished material.
