The material in this collection consists of genealogical research on the decedents of Emanuel and Mary Strahan. The researched was conducted by Barbara Oliver Stockwell and Lorene Hobbs Rector. Both women are third generation Strahans.

Biographical or Historical Information
Emanuel and Mary Strahan moved their family from Mississippi to Texas, along with 17 other families. Between 1846 and 1851, the family settled near the Angelina River in Marion's Ferry, Nacogdoches County. Many descendants of the couple still live in Nacogdoches County and the East Texas area.
