Biographical / Historical
Frederic W. Harlacher (1856-1911) was a resident of Nacogdoches County. His mother, Margaret, was born in France in 1825 and moved to United States from France in 1870. She was accompanied by Frederic who was fifteen at the time. The ledgers and blank invoices indicate that Frederic was employed as a heavy hauler of goods including wood, lumber, stone, and gravel. He may have had a partner in 1904--a Mr. Henson.
Frederic married Eliza Flores in 1901. Eliza (1869-1959) worked in Nacogdoches as a registered nurse; in her later years, she listed her occupation as a farmer. Frederic died in 1911 and was buried in the Old Catholic Cemetery, Nacogdoches, Texas.
