Biographical / Historical
Vernon Ray Berry was born in Lufkin, Texas, on November 28, 1931, to Thomas Jefferson Berry (1892-1950) and Sallie Hubbard (1894-1975). Vernon was a cadet at the Fourth Army Security Agency ROTC Summer Camp at Fort Devens, Massachusetts, held from July 18 to July 27 1951. During his collegiate years, Vernon served as the secretary of the Lufkin Club at Texas A&M University. On June 14, 1956, Vernon served as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army at the 90th Infantry Division Summer Camp at Fort Hood, Texas.

Abstract
Vernon Ray Berry (1931-1983) served in the Cadet Company at the 1951 Army Security Agency Reserve Officer Training Corps Summer Camp and was a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army. The collection contains a pictorial book about the Army Security Agency summer camp, newspaper clippings, medical advertisements, photographs, vehicle registration receipts, a community program booklet, and a genealogical document of the P.J. Brookshire family.
