Abstract

The Barnett Family Papers document the personal, business, and religious activities of the Barnett family of Nacogdoches County through correspondence, receipts, contracts, and genealogical materials. The collection also contains records relating to Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church and several generations of the Barnett family, including John Calhoun Barnett and Robert Donnell Barnett.

This is a small collection and consists primarily of photographs and newspaper clippings about the family of Charles H. Tindall. The collection also includes a song book and Dr. Tindall's prescription book.

Scope and Contents There are a wide range of materials in the Hall Family Collection. In the personal and family correspondence there are court records, diary entries, holiday cards, letters, newspaper clippings, notebooks, notes, poetry, postcards, sympathy cards, and telegrams. The collection consists of one Civil War letter; correspondence, mostly from Dillard B. Hazen during World War I, including post cards; mostly unidentified photographs and tintypes; newspaper clippings; poll tax receipts; and World War I buttons and mementos. Photocopies of obituaries and cemetery records have been added to help identify family members.

The papers in this collection consist of letters and other writings of members of the Meroney family. Of special interest are the Civil War letters. All the documents in the collection are original, accompanied by a typed transcription.

Scope and Contents The Parks-Whitehead Collection is a very small collection and consists of four folders. Folder 1 has six postcards featuring scenes from various cities across the United States, including San Antonio, Texas, Kansas City, Missouri, Topeka, Kansas, and Chicago, Illinois.
