Abstract

The Barnett Family Papers document the personal, business, and religious activities of the Barnett family of Nacogdoches County through correspondence, receipts, contracts, and genealogical materials. The collection also contains records relating to Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church and several generations of the Barnett family, including John Calhoun Barnett and Robert Donnell Barnett.

Materials include an original 1871 land grant signed by Governor Richard B. Hubbard, deeds, photographs, account books, and family records that trace the Herrera family's land ownership, community connections, and multigenerational presence in East Texas.
