The East Texas Research Center has inactive county records owned by the state of Texas as part of the [url=https://www.tsl.state.tx.us/arc/local/depositories.html]Regional Historical Resource Depository (RHRD) program[/url] for the following 8 counties: Angelina, Cherokee, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, & Shelby. Microfilm owned by the state of Texas but housed at the ETRC as part of the Regional Historical Depository (RHRD) program is available for interlibrary loan. All items are loaned for a two week period. A list of [url=http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/arc/local/index.html]County Records[/url] on microfilm that can be interlibrary loaned to your local library. Those requesting material must use the items within two weeks after the materials have been received. Miscellaneous Angelina County Records

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of a deed, several tax receipts and a pair of sheriff's wanted broadsides. These are miscellaneous loose items collected over the years.

Miscellaneous Nacogdoches County Records

Scope and Contents

The bulk of this collection are Nacogdoches Co. deeds for miscellaneous citizens. There are also land documents, promissory notes, field notes, broadsides for land or fugitives from the law, power of attorney and other probate documents, and entrance certificates. Researchers might find the entrance certificates, which are all from 1835 and in Spanish; and a pair of small broadsides from 1890-1891 for fugitives wanted for murder, of particular interest.
