The Business and Organizational Collection provides insight into regional commercial and non-profit activities. Church registers, doctors ledgers, scrapbooks from various clubs and organizations, and business records from companies such as Mahdeen Hair Tonic, Minton & Minton Lawyers, and Rusk General Store are among some of the collections. A variety of organizations have donated records including the East Texas Historical Association, Texas State Genealogical Society, Four Seasons Garden Club, Center Woman's Reading Club and the Nacogdoches Rotary Club. These collections document the social, cultural and economic history of East Texas from European colonialism to the present day and provide a view into southern culture and life.

Scope and Contents The Rowlett Store Ledger contains customer account records from 1869 to 1873. The handwriting is very difficult to decipher in places, but some of the names mentioned in the ledger include B. A. Rowlett, W. E. Rowlett, James Swain, Sam Davis, Alford Arnold, Peter Lockett, Sam Atkinson, Nathan Hearns, Jesse Morse, J. G. Steele, Lemuel Campbell, and Gabe and Aaron Collins. Scope and Contents Part of the book contains a brief journal which appears to be a record of trips taken from 1895 to 1900 (author unknown). In the same handwriting are copied some inspirational thoughts. At the end of the book are several pages of a diary which begins with the announcement of the birth of Edward Boone Brackett, Jr. in 1905 and ends about 1912.
