B. Business & Organizational Collection

The original daybook contains the names and accounts of hotel guests and Nacogdoches citizens who took meals or lodging there from 1854 to 1858. Also contained in the volume is what appears to be a county record of fees for court cases, 1877-1878. A photocopy of the daybook is also present.

The first half of the ledger contains hand written statement of the creed and doctrine fo fthe Missionary Baptist Church along with minutes of meetings. Starting on page 99 it contains newspaper clippings and a childs doodles.

Blotter book copies of personal and business correspondence, including the Thomson and Donman Company in Austin, Texas. The correspondence is both typed and handwritten.

Material in the collection consists of student information sheets, magazines and general information about Raguet Elementary School in Nacogdoches, Texas. No date was given to open the time capsule.

The collection consists of membership directories, board of directors meeting minutes, treasurer’s reports, and a scrapbook. The scrapbook also has copies of the “1200 Chapter Chatter” newsletter, 1998-1999.

The newsletter contains a political calendar of Rusk County Democratic Party events, informational items, exhortations to vote, humor, and editorials. Many of the editorials are written by Mr. Jones, who regularly extolled the working class virtues of Democrats and his perceived shortcomings of Republicans. --Excerpted from a letter accompanying the donation of the collection.

There are two parts of the collection: the Rusk County Collection and the Vinzent papers, the latter being photostats of the originals in the possession of Mr. Sam Ross of Mt. Enterprise (1962).

The journals date from July 16, 1914 to August 12,1915 and from September 11, 1916 to November 2, 1917

This collection consists of 33 ledger books, a poetry scrapbook, and a Beaumont High School yearbook, "Spindletop" (1925). The ledger books include daybooks, general ledgers, and farm account books pertaining to the clientele and operations of the general merchandise and grocery store.

The collection consists of correspondence between Santa Fe Industries, the minority stock holders, and the lawyers and lumber experts they used.

Business records of the store, including cash journal sheets and receipts of goods purchased for the store.

Founded in 1962, the Shelby County Historical Society works to collect and preserve items with local and regional historic value. This register lists names of visitors from 1966-1985.

Photographs from the Smith and Todd poultry hauling business. The collection includes images of the owners, aerial photographs of the farm, and pictures of the different trucks the company used over time.
